One of the key advantages of picking the Mclaren Shadow is that it’s an entirely bespoke build to your personal taste. Based around a sociable rear U-shaped lounge layout, all other elements of the design can be altered to suit your requirements. It’s the difference between a tailor-made suit and an off-the-peg garment.
The U-shape lounge is a luxurious place to relax and can be trimmed in your choice of leather, with a wide range of furniture options. Large side windows, airy rooflights and all manner of multimedia options can be specified, while at night-time it forms a sumptuously vast bed.
A central washroom – complete with a shower fed by a 100-litre water tank – is also specified, together with a kitchen unit featuring a built-in 95-litre fridge freezer, a flush-fit hob and sink unit, together with an oven with a grill.
You can specify two or four berths, with the four berth model using a pair of front travel seats that form a comfortable bed. The two berth model replaces these travel seats with an additional storage area – usually a drawer system.
your home from home
With twin cab swivel seats, you effectively get a second front lounge and dining area, in addition to the dining area formed in the rear U-shaped lounge.
Based on either VW Crafter or Mercedes Sprinter in either long-wheelbase or extra long wheelbase versions (ranging in size from 6.8m to 7.3m), standard engine options include a 140bhp engine (Crafter) and a 163bhp engine (Sprinter). Upgraded engines to 177bhp for the Crafter and 190bhp for the Sprinter are also offered. Automatic gearboxes can be specified on both base vehicles, while the drivetrains can be either front-, rear- or four-wheel-drive.
These new base vehicles offer high levels of refinement and are highly specified with safety equipment as standard.
Optional base vehicle equipment is extensive and can include everything from reversing cameras to sat-nav systems, LED headlights and heated seats.
